ABOUT DADS ON TAP

I didn’t start Dads On Tap because I had fatherhood figured out.
I started it because I knew how much fathers matter—and because, like most dads, I wanted to get this right without pretending I always knew how. I’m Scott Mawdesley, husband to Natalie, dad to Silas and Sadie, and founder of Dads On Tap. This work grew out of my own story, my years serving men and families, and a simple conviction: dads become better when they have honest places to connect.

Why This Work is Personal
My wife, Natalie, and I have built a great family together with our two kids, Silas and Sadie. Our life has been shaped by faith, friendship, meaningful work, plenty of laughter, seasons of difficulty, and all the ordinary moments that form us over time. Being a dad is one of my greatest gifts—and one of the clearest reminders that loving your kids deeply doesn’t mean you always know what you’re doing.
My convictions about fatherhood began long before I became one. My childhood was chaotic and included bankruptcy, housing instability, and the painful separation of our family. Those experiences taught me early that what happens inside a family can shape a child’s story for decades. They also planted questions in me about whether I was enough and what kind of man and father I wanted to become.
Dads On Tap grew out of that journey. It isn’t built on the idea that good dads have everything figured out but on the belief that men grow when they stop pretending, tell the truth, listen well, and walk alongside other dads. Sometimes a stronger family begins with something as simple as one honest conversation.
